How did you get started in this?
Do you have a particular area of interest or genre you’re interested in? If so, what interests you about it?
Reportage and travel photography are my main focuses, but I still consider myself a photographic artist.
I actually thrive on challenges. Every job presents a challenge and encourages me to develop further. That’s why I find it difficult to really reduce myself to the “biggest” challenge.
Who and/or what inspires you most?
The world and its people
What Datacolor color management tools are in your work bag/workspace?
The most important one for me is the Datacolor Spyder. I like it`s safety & reliability.
Why is accurate color important within your workflow?
Colors (or the absence of colors in black and white shots) are particularly important for people’s perception, because they create feelings. Therefore, they are also very important for me, after all I want to arouse feelings with my photographs.
In commissioned work, the correct color reproduction is vital for customer satisfaction. If colors don’t turn out right, the entire job will have failed.
What was the key factor that made you decide to use color management?
I used to be unsure when images looked different on a different screen. I was never sure what was right – today I have found certainty in my workflow by using Datacolor products and applying color management.
What’s your biggest challenge at work these days?
Certainly the biggest challenge is to get enough orders to earn money. Apart from that, it is also to always fulfill the customers’ wishes and expectations for their photo & video jobs and the workshops I offer.
What’s your objective when you create something?
To see the extraordinary – and to capture it.
Best bit of advice you ever got?
Don’t be discouraged
Do you have a fun fact you want to share about yourself?
A short film created from almost 2000 photographs.
The initial focus here was on developing an idea, followed by the search for special locations and the challenge of getting the person (the actor) to move, even with long exposures. Then came the editing and the task of repeatedly adding missing details.
